I've been told the Oil Patch is warming up. I've seen advertised $1,500-2,500 week company driver jobs. I heard the 'Big Companies' are ramping up their hiring in anticipation of another boom. Yet, when I do my research and speak with other drivers at these companies, they are not making what has been advertised. Not even close for all the hours... So, does anyone have one of these $350-400 day company driver jobs they are willing to share? I know just a couple years ago it wasn't difficult to earn that amount and way more, but I'm willing to take anything around that pay range to be conservative until it takes off again. My local job here pays $140 day gross which is nothing for how expensive it is to live in So Cal... I've heard of Frac Sand in Pennsylvania, but would like to hear your opinions. I live not far from Bakersfield, Ca. so any oil work up there would be ideal... If I find something I will post it for everyone to see. Thanks

Crude oil is on track to do something it hasn’t done in over 20 years
Oil hasn't went above $60 in while. And because of that it has been extreamly slow in areas where it was booming. And if you go on sites like indeed you will see several companies posting that they need drivers. So im not sure if there work is there. Or if there hiring for something big to come.Frankshotta Thanks this. -
What part of CA you from? You'd have to move out of CA. Lots of jobs in Midland Texas. But the oilfields are a little slow Right now. Oil prices are going back and forth

Thanks you for all the responses... i live in So Cal and would like to find work in Bakersfield. Does anyone know if their overtime kicks in after an 8 hour day or 40 hour week in California? I think it's the former. I've looked into Texas and I'd like to haul Frac Sand. I think people should position themselves to get ready for it to boom again. Whether that's getting your endorsements, safety training, or a couple months experience in your prospective area in the oil field, so you can get hired on right away when it comes and negotiate a better rate/pay...

Well seeing how a barrel of oil closed today at $37, and in order for it to be profitable to drill here in the states oil needs to be selling at $50 per barrel, I wouldn't say things aren't heating up.

Stay where your at. There is no boom.
I live in Texas. It's not booming and no one knows
When it will boom again. Just like nobody knew
When it was gonna crash the last time, including me
Cause I was out there.
Worked like a dog for months on end, then 2 weeks
Later there's nothing to do. A month after that the dust
Bowl town your in becoomes a ghost town.
A boom is when companies will pay your way out
There and house you for free and give you every other
Perk they can.
You go to midland Texas now you're paying your
Own way and housing. And it ain't cheap. So your
Better off where your at. There's thousands of
Oilfield drivers already living in Texas looking for
Consistent work and they don't have to pay them
Anything but there salary.viper822004, Nsterns, rabbiporkchop and 1 other person Thank this. -
Your directions to "Fantasy Land" are incorrect. We are so busy hauling water that most of us are working 5 days on (12-14 hour shifts) and 1 day off (we run e-logs) just because we don't have enough drivers. It is not just the company I work for, but all of the transport companies in this area of Oklahoma. (Watonga, Kingfisher, Weatherford, Thomas, Calumet)
