Ok i run refer too im gonna get one these ,but my quistion is,say i load cantaloupe, well it measure to the core of that melon ,or just measure the outside of the skin? Or how deep does it measure?

Not sure, but when I measure heat of a tire or whatnot with mine, it's the inside temperature. Same with the refrigerator. It's going inside, the core temp. Can't tell you about produce, though...never tried that, 'cause I'm not a reefer driver. Leme think of who is.... um @scottied67 ...any insight? @tscottme .. are you a reefer guy, too?
Thinking out loud, @Everett . @bulldawg trucker and @Steel Dragon may show up to answer too. I'm curious to the answer, myself. -
Infrared will only measure the skin temperature. For produce, you want a cheap dial face thermometer.
Calibrate it in a cup of ice water. It should be 32° exactly. If it's not, turn the nut on the back until the dial lines up with 32°.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
You can get infrared thermometers with an attachable probe in order to physically pulp produce. That is what I used.

No more reefer loads ever!
Too much extra bs and less pay than dry van loads.
Why bother?G13Tomcat Thanks this.
