In New York if you get two speeding tickets that are over 15 mph you get your CDL suspended for 60 days. I got a speeding ticket in my personal vehicle recently before having to go for my CDL for my job. I don't have my CDL yet. I was just wondering if it matters if I am convicted before or after receiving my CDL.

You're not guilty until after being convicted. Get this ticket cleared/paid or whatever, before you get the cdl. Maybe get it reduced to something less because a 15 over is a death knell for many companies. You'll be able to find a trucking job, but you probably won't like it.
Discuss it with a lawyer or try Google : traffic ticket clinic New York

You better try and get that reduced. It doesn't matter personal vehicle or not. It looks bad to trucking companies...

I am thinking about starting school for my CDL I've had quite a few speeding tickets in the years past how far back do they check or should I even bother trying to get them with so many tickets

Most companies won't insure you as a driver anymore. Not for a few years anyway.

Go to some company web sites and see what their requirements are, as they will post how recent and how many speeding tickets they will tolerate.

If you like speeding, SLOW the *&% Down.

You are pretty much uninsurable by trucking companies who want to hire, but cannot because you speed too much. 15 over? Sheesh. tomorrow it will be a 40 over.

Stop that speeding. Maybe in a few years your records will cool enough to be hireable pretty well.

Why do I get difficult? It's simple. You are about to leave a 80 mph car to get into a 60 mph ttruck trapped in a herd of trucks that will spend 10 miles sorting out who gets front.

Im not your enemy, if anyone knows top end speeding, it's be me.
