Going real good Cap, started trucking after 3 days of orientation, figured out the surge right away with a load of honey, still trying to fine tune my shifting with different products, running regional, hoping they cut me loose for some coastal runs, free range load is more of a challenge than bulk powder, I have to say I like it, trucks are awesome, fully loaded 13spd 73" sleeper 485 hp fridge, inverter, and they give you lots of miles if you want them, the grass is greener on the other side.
CaptainGoatYak, Bud A., G13Tomcat and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thats one heck of a fridge if its got 485hp. Should keep your food real cold.

Glad you're liking the tanker work. With my company I switch back and forth a lot between wet and dry tankers. Love it wan I can haul a light weight per gallon wet load as I can get my trailers really full and it cuts its room to run around. Our acid is the worst. 15.5 #'s pg and only loading 3900 gallons in a 2 compartment 6500+ gallon trailer.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Just wondering... do you ever haul 6122 or 3257? Not much swag.

Sounds like you got a heck of a gig, off the bat....good for you, man. Yep, the surge.. ahhhh the surge. Free range sure is MORE CHALLENGING.. here's my advice on that . . . if you don't catch the exit early on.... bypass it and take the 15 minutes to roll back around. Exit ramps are not your friends. The viscosity of your hauls may change.... but the surges can (and will) still slam you. Tell him, @Bud A. . . . .

Best wishes, man.
I work nights, sorry I didn't reply sooner.Shock Therapy Thanks this. -
No. Mostly 1830 and 1824. We haul up to 61,000 pounds of the 1830 and 65,000 on the 1824 on a normal basis. Then 3264 every once in a while. Today after I unload this flour at the cookies factory Im switching out trailers and picking up a load of hypochlorite for a paper mill.Shock Therapy and G13Tomcat Thank this.

I'm doing alright. Came back from the time off and ran a few short loads, then left on my first longer run. Down to NM, bouncing empty up to ID, and loading for IA. Not too bad having to do a 34 hour reset this weekend, as it looks like I'll get to spend it in Colorado. Coming into Albuquerque was a nice warm up for some mountain driving. Little nerve wracking with the curves and continuous grade, but got to where I was going nonetheless. Even a little early.
I wish my truck went faster, though, for all the parts between here and ND that are flat and straight...G13Tomcat and Shock Therapy Thank this. -
Colorado on the 4th of July weekend....actually sounds amazing. You should see some pretty good "star shows" ie: fireworks, out that way for sure!slim shady Thanks this.

Faster and tanker is really not a very good mix.
No need to rush, I'm sure your banking some good moneyCaptainGoatYak, Just passing by and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
That thought occurred to me. Still, 70 through the plains wouldn't probably kill me...slim shady and G13Tomcat Thank this.
