    Here we are in July with 5 and a half months left before the day all drivers have circled on there calendar. 17Dec 17so far that's the start date. There may be an extension because of some of the manufacturers say they can't meet the demands of all of the different trucking companies.

    Why would there be an extension, the Mandate has been known for years . I hope there is a shortage , it will drive the rates up .

    There are companies that have waited till the last min so to speak. Therefore it's putting a bind on the suppliers. And now there's talks of extending the deadline.

    In my ( unpopular ) they should not extend the deadline without some type of penalties. What about all the people who obeyed the mandate

    There will likely be no "extension", that would cause too much loss of credibility. What I do expect is a "soft enforcement period", where offenders will be given warnings and tickets but not be totally shut down. How long that may go on is anybodies guess.
    It was the same as the whole CARB thing, just on a larger scale.

    There could be a shortage of ELD devices when everybody will have realized it is for real. Including myself. Ha Ha Ha!
