They still have it at both the Pilot and Flying J here in Laredo. I had ac problems a few years ago and trip planned based on their locations. CR England has it here in their terminal as well.
If I'm comparing it to idling its a no brainer since my truck burns 0.3 gph at idle and my net fuel cost lately is under $2.00 a gallon. I'd rather just get a hotel room. Its true most of them smell like something crawled up the tube, took a monstrous #### and died. Last week.

What kind of truck do you have that only burns .3 gallons an hour idling?
-
It's not just the amount of fuel it's also the wear and tear on the engine.

Pull the pistons out of an old cat powered generator or pump with extremely high hours on it and you would think it was barely used. I've seen perkins engines with 50k hours on them and the liners still got the cross hatches in them.motocross25 Thanks this. -
Location location location. Let's see, I am at a truck stop tonight and I can actually get a parking space at a working Idle Aire. Tomorrow I am at a different trucks top but all the spaces are taken up by non customers. The next night I stay at the shipper, nothing. Get the picture. Same goes for the silly Superpower locations. Like a cop, never around when you really need one.

Idle air sounds like a great thing to bring back.
