You do type off the wall threads can't blame anyone who wants to block you.I mean really you make trucking sound like its a hard job and everyone owes you something. If you think this profession is too much then find something else to do.You don't have a clue bud.

Don't you just love these guys who claim to be knowledgeable about the industry, and then, not joking, suggest the most bizarre things, showing they're not knowledgeable?

I had a dock worker ask me "why do the call a Kenworth a KW instead of a Ken?" or "why do you guys call a Peterbilt a Pete instead of a Peter?" I almost fell off the dock laughing!

I get what he's saying, to an extent.

Yeah, we should all be treated better. Yeah, the ones at the top are getting rich of the ones on the bottom. Has been since before the beginning of recorded history. Ranting on here is not going to fix anything.

We also have to think of the reality of our position. Take holiday pay for example, like his thread. It is in the power of an alternative, that we would get paid extra for the 4th of July. Local driver, it's go to work or stay home. You want me to work on a holiday, pay me.

Now what's my alternative as an OTR driver, drive or sit at the truck stop? I'll choose driving vs sitting, so why would the company pay me to do something that I will do without the incentive? That fundamental lack of understanding is what makes it difficult to take this guy seriously.

I put him on ignore. There is no point in trying to explain holidays to this man. He does not understand how the United States literally seems to sit on it's national ### during three weeks of christmas and new years for example... I don't have the patience to rehash all the liabilities of any holiday this morning.

If you have been doing this for 30 years you would have a clue how economics work. You are a new driver stuck in a lease that barely gets by crying foul because you can't live with your choices. You are looking for sympathy to make you feel better.

It's high time people toughen up. No one is taking advantage of you/us. What happens is driversfind out what a broker made off their work and they get all butt hurt. What changed? A few minutes ago they were happy with tyhe pay on the load, he'll they agreed to haul it.

You have been doing this job for a little while, you can a always do something else. We do not have to nor will we change to the will of whiners.
