We're not but if you look closely in large metropolitan cities there are jobs with this type of compensation. You'll need to look at large industrial companies that operate their own fleet.

Look driver screw this otr talk. Call Hanson and adkins a you will be driving regionally delivering cars in LA ms and a little of tx. And making about $1200 p/wk.

When I got laid off in 06 from ltl the big companies said the same. That local don't matter. I know it's the insurance Co. That pushes that crap. But local is way harder than otr any day. And now if it ain't local or regional I don't even look into it. If you only look into vans then most of the nig box companies will all say the same.

Take the time to think outside the box. Tankers are way better and there are plenty of companies in your area hiring local or regional that are paying. And even if you want to do otr you gotta get away from vans if you wanna make over 65k per year. Granted some ltl and private carriers pay OK on vans. Some of them are hard to get on with. But from BR down to NO there are a lot of tanker companies. And I would go OTR with Honeywell if I were in that area and was looking to go otr.

I don't understand the whole refresher crap either.

I went otr when the economy crashed. local wages dropped to minimum wage. Now they're finally back up but now you can go to McDonalds and make the same wage. These days.

It don't matter if your local or otr. All trucks drive the same. The hos is the same. The cops are the same meanies. Why do I need a refresher with a trainer just to start living in a truck???? Chances are. I've been driving longer then him.

I first applied for JCT. Then a local company 100 miles up north. JCT told me I had no experience. The local gave me a truck and said go drive.

Not understanding why most of you prefer to work for megas. And keep recommending megas. They're a joke. And leave you with a permanent criminal record. Yes I say permanent. 16 years later I've still got my first trucking company listed.
