Yeah, they were good engines....Back in the '70's, I turned wrenches for a local contractor with a couple of Chevy C60 & C70 dump trucks. They were good trucks, came with 350's with 4 bolt mains and 4+2 & 5+2 rears.....Problem was his "drivers" would never check oil, water, etc, thus resulting in engine problems....Well, the cheap SOB would buy any chevy car with a 350 he could find and have me swap 'em out.....I tried tellin him they wouldn't hold up, but nope, put 'em in anyway, job's a waitin...We'd put the no-foulers on the plugs and ran straight 50 Wolfs head oil, that bought some time, but not much..

He even tried once to get a local welder to weld a broken main leaf spring, nope aint happenin get lost...

He was a character for sure, WWII old school, He'd always say, "well can't you just".... True story, trailer broke down once, how long to get it going?, well between parts wait and no problems, about a week.....Nope, too long, job can't wait....What to do, what to do, I know he says, "I'll just hook the front bucket of the hoe over the dump's tailgate, apply down pressure, and up the road I'll go"...He rolled off and I just shook my head in amazement....

My friend had a 4 bolt main 454 in a motor home, you wanted the motor, you took it all. We couldn't give it away even after calling everyone and their brother . He finally paid to have it hauled away

Most likely a 366 under the hood, outside shot it's a 427. Either way, they were both grunt motors.

The 366 and 427 tall deck blocks are what most had. The big bore V-6 was oddly enough a 305. For some reason gmc used them a lot more than Chevrolet. Or at least in my area it seems they are all in gmc's
Could always be a 71 series Detroit too.

That style GMC was used up into the 70's.
Most likely a Big V6 engine which was in form of 305 cubes to 432 I know for sure.... There's a 432 cubic inch GMC V6 in my shop now. They also made a 702 cubic inch V12 gasser, hell for stout but thirsty!
