So you must be at 2.25 after crunching the big numbers? 1.25 is cost to run minimum if you are a top notch driver, with zero mistakes. 1 dollar per mile is profit. You put in 70 hours a week, that is 25 buck per hour AKA what the AVERAGE american makes. At least your not some jack##s only worth 1.50 per mile.
Gross miles divided by gross money you made?

Last time, because I'm not in the business of feeding trolls, I don't consider what I do out here as work. Now construction, roof work, steel mill, that's real work. I just drive around, relax and cash checks.Blackshack46, JReding, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.

And how do i crunch the RISK numbers of holding over 1 million dollars worth of insurance and making 5 bucks per hour.
-
I am only joking guys, like all truck drivers i live in a gated community. That 100 grand a year really piles up on you if you dont thow it at a large house...lol..

I figured if you're such a wise guy, you would know.

All I can tell you is holding a CDL has done me well over the years. It has kept a house over my families head, out my kids thru private school and given me a few nice cars over the years. It hasn't always been easy. I broke 100k a couple times as a company driver, albeit busting my ### and unloading the truck by hand. Granted I was home every night it wasn't an easy gig. That lead me into management and a decent salaried position. Not sure what the next venture brings as I begin the journey, but the previous 19 years allowed me to save enough to pay cash for a truck and give it a try.
No I don't jet set on private planes nor cruise the Abacos on a multi million dollar yacht, but my family is happy and I am content.Last edited: Jul 9, 2017

All your comments lead me to believe you are so superior to everyone on this forum or truckers and trucking companies in general. Sounds like you purchase stuff to keep your lifestyle up? Remember that stuff come on a truck. This is still America and I can chose to make a living how I chose. Spent 25 years in the corporate world. I make just as much owning my own truck as I ever did working for them. I'm 10x more satisfied with my curent situation. There are limits to pay in the little town I chose to live in now and this suits me just fine. If you think clearing $3 mile is nessasary to own a trucking company I wish you the best. That would be your own choice?Hurst, Crude Truckin', danny23tx and 1 other person Thank this.
