Yeah,it was pretty dumb carrying all that around.I just never realized I had so many, just kept throwing them in the well.Never turned down a deal, whenever I saw chains and binders for sale,45 year accumulation.
Dye Guardian, cke, snowman_w900 and 3 others Thank this. -
Half a dozen of these big old huge 1/2" American made snap biinders from the old days.Carried em,but probably used them last,40 years ago.Had two of those easy release binders, don't even remember ever using them.
Blue jeans, cke, snowman_w900 and 2 others Thank this. -
We called those old half-inch binders D-9 binders. If you were doing four or five loads a day moving equipment they'd wear you down to a nub.
On the subject of headache racks...I believe in them. All of our trucks have them and they've saved us enough money in repairs and injuries to make up for the cost.cke, snowman_w900, DDlighttruck and 2 others Thank this. -
Those heavy duty ones that are a full 8' or 8'6" wide are definitely a cab saver if you flop a truck in the bush too.Blue jeans, snowman_w900, DDlighttruck and 6 others Thank this.

When I bought my own trl in 2008, I weighed the trk. and trl..I was way to heavy for my liking. So I started going through my headache rack. Yep I had enough tie down gear for 3 trks..
I kept adding stuff from time to time. I unloaded 3000 pounds of tie down gear and shackles, plus extra tire chains etc..Blue jeans, Big Don, Dye Guardian and 6 others Thank this. -
He had 30, you have 14. You are officially half the trucker he was...Last edited: Jul 12, 2017

I was under the impression you needed one either on the tractor OR the trailer. When did they do away with that?
