Since he's leased to swift, they won't make him sit through that one day event. It's only the guys that have there own authority the make sit through that. So he's good there and he should get there fuel card!
Nope, swift does not pass on any fuel discounts do it's lease ops. If you're not sure about this, look at your settlement for fuel and see if the price your settlement was charged is the same as the receipt from the pump or if it's less. If it's less then swift is giving you a fuel discount. Now the next thing is to figure out how much of a discount and if it's only 6 cents or 10 cents, go get nastc fuel program! You'll save more than that with there program!

Don't you get deals on tires through Swift? Reducing costs is important but IMO generating more gross will have more impact on your bottom line.TequilaSunrise and redoctober83 Thank this.

For software, look at what @Trucker Darrisaw just posted. He beat me to the post.
For tires, go look for the Michelin advantage program. Simple Google search will find it.V c2c and Trucker Darrisaw Thank this. -
The NASTC offers minimal benefits. Dosent report the business credit. He should be seeking that to grow your business.
-
Thats why you need to be growing your own businesses. You should be building business credit so that you can reap the business advantages.

Yes, quickbooks is good and about the only option that will jive with your accountant. It will with time help you decide where you can save money and if you have a revenue problem or not.
The tire inflation system is a great idea. We have saved many hundreds of dollars per trailer that has this. I like the idea of putting on the truck.
Get your alignment done.
Hold off on the APU... they are very expensive and fuel is cheap. Besides as time goes along you may decide you want a different truck. Use this saved money to keep in your bank account until you have way more then enough. This is an instance of don't yet spend money to "make more money". Too early yet.
Lastly, whether you have a paccar or Cummins, invest in a tool to read fault codes. This can save you thousands. If Cummins then look at the Guidanz app and tool.
Don't race stoplight to stoplight. Hang back and roll on through...HalpinUout and Driver0000 Thank this. -
For a fuel program for a small one truck guy, NASTC is his best option. As you expand and grow they have many benefits that will help his operation.
Business credit is something he's not going to get from a fuel card program. He can use NASTC as a credit reference but until he buys a truck, trailer or something piece of equipment, there isn't much he can do to build that business credit.Night_driver Thanks this. -
Maybe @boneebone can chime in here, he's a Swift L/O.
