Not sure. but I do know 15+ is serious. If you get caught doing it in VA, you going to jail. As far as insurance, im not sure how it will affect premiums which the companies orry about... Along with their safety ratings
-
Many applications will ask if you had any tickets... usually going back on 3 years... but a 15+ reckless... yea, you will always need to disclose it... The only thing that will help now it time... you gotta get it behind you without any mishaps for several years

Like 60 in a 45. What was I thinking. That's going to put the skids on a driving carrer.
-
To clarify, my MVR lists this as "Speeding, 15-19 mph above posted speed limit" and I was not in a commercial vehicle. The ticket was for speeding, 15 mph over, and not reckless driving -- reckless is 20+ in VA. I do understand that 15 may as well be reckless in the CDL world.
Thanks for the replies everyone.Last edited: Jul 16, 2017

YW, and thanks for adding your 20, man. We realize it's not in a CMV, but MANY (if not most) states usually tag a 15 and over, as Reckless Op. You may have gotten lucky, being in VA then, that they lumped it into a category that begins with 10 mph over.
Wishing you the best...that could be your "loophole" for sure!

Carolina Cargo will hire you. They don't have their own cdl school, so you'll have to attend a private cdl school.
Carolina Logistics might hire you, but not sure. Call and ask. They have their own cdl school.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
I guess all the ones that want to hire a cowboy yeeee haaaaaa
-
Make sure before you attend any school.... Check to see if they will hire you or someone is willing to hire you. There are to many scams out here. Ive seen people with things disclosed on their MVR only to realize that they cant be hired. now they got a CDL unable to be hired. Also, they get a hefty bill from the schooling...
driverdriver and G13Tomcat Thank this.
