Staying on the bigroad in Texas during the daytime is a mistake. There are plenty backroads with good speed limits. Lot less drama on the 2 lane in Texas.
Coming up thru Dallas today I wondered ?

#1-48: Connecticut. Pick a highway; pick a US route; pick a state route; pick an abandoned back road. The #### thing will be jammed up, probably have an accident sprinkled in every 25 miles and - as previously noted - speed limits don't matter. Work zone 45... Let's do 70. All while riding your ### and the horn when you're already doing 60.
#### Connecticut. That entire state can be dragged into the ocean when NYC falls in. -
I had someone call in on me in CT once.
I was doing the posted speed limit through a construction zone. heh.
I love New England but CT and it's citizens are a first rate ####hole. Worse than NYC and Jersey.lilillill, LindaPV and KillingTime Thank this. -
I love playing chicken with them when I need to get over.Spartan0229 Thanks this.

Add Ohio to the list with the stipulation of rain or snow. Not kidding you, if there is even a drop of rain there are 10 accidnts through out my area (Cincinnati). And a flake of snow, then its time to go ditch hoppin.
-
That seems so backwards... I mean Ohio is a Northern state, prone to snow... it isn't like Georgia where an inch has people abandoning their cars on the highway...
But then again, we have some real bad winter drivers in Maine... I once saw a Prius vertically propped up against a power pole after he'd run up the snow-bank in front of it... maybe he was trying to charge it?
The best winter driving advice was given to me by a close friend many years ago: 'Drive in such a manner that you don't have to use your brakes.' Because when you do, if you do... you're probably already screwed.CrappieJunkie and LindaPV Thank this. -
In all fairness, Cincinnati isn't quite the same as the rest of Ohio. I mean, Cincinnati is practically Atlanta's northern little brother. I don't care for the city; actually, I don't care much for the state of Ohio or midwestern people in general but it's home.CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

I hate to bring this thread back up but I have been laughing so hard that I couldn't help myself. But you guys are absolutely right. Texas drivers are very bad. If someone dropped a water bottle in the Toll Road gets richer that day. I hate TX drivers. I can say that because I live here and drive local.
carramrod32 Thanks this. -
Yes, this. So much this. Between bad drivers, bad construction zones that don't follow federal signage/marking guidelines, bad cops, etc., that state is a poopsock on a hot seat with the windows up. Eastern Mass has worse drivers but at least the roads and cops are better.
Texas... dunno what the problems are down there. I have a real love/hate relationship with that place. Lol. Outside of the I35 corridor from San Antonio to Oklahoma it's one of my favorite places to drive... but ya, in between that road is not fun. I'd rather drive in LA or Chi-town
