How many of you Guys would do It for less Money than agreed.
If after loading It turns out to weigh less than on the Con note???
Nahhh, Didn't think so... Suck It up & move On.. -
I see it this way, I'm agreeing to pull x amount of weight or less... NOT more.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
If it is booked as a Ftl I just assume it's going to be up to 48k and price it as such. If lighter great! I can haul up to 50k but most can't. If it's over 48k I charge more or I don't take it.
Now if it were a ltl, I expect the correct weight and dementions or I'll call them out.
Anything that extends beyond the deck os od gets renegotiated before it gets loaded if doesent match rate con. -
Our truck gets .5 mpg less hauling 40k instead of 20k. For every 500 miles we would drive, it would use 5 more gallons of fuel. The misinformation would bother me more than the extra cost. The cost would bother me if it happened every day or if the rate was already extremely low to begin with.

to me full truck load is full truck load, i would not give any break on the rate for a lighter load, price each load as if your maxed out even if its only 20k lbs. then you don't have to be upset if the load that was supposed to be 20k lbs is 40 if its only 20 you get a slight fuel bonus
if its listed as ltl and your planning to load something else with it that your no longer able to do then yes re-negotiate.GetRid70hr8dayRules, Ruthless and SL3406 Thank this. -
Ask for what you want or let them know you won't haul their freight again. Write better contracts. That might have been a test run to get your reaction. Next thing you know you are haulng day cab 45k loads. And bringing them back for adj. Or they think you know your way around scales, not my cup of tea.
