In nj it took the longest to get the green light from the state police too. I guess they have better things to do than sign expungements!! Lol. I had to send letters to about 9 different places. First asking them if they objected to my expungement and then after the order was signed I had to send letters again getting them to erase everything. The state police were always the last to respond. But once they did everything went fast.
I think it will turn out good. I'm more worried about the suspended license then I am about the criminal record. If anything stops me I believe it will be the license suspension. Subscribe to the thread because I will definitely let you know how it worked out. Even if it's not in my favor. It's good info for people to know that got an expungement. Especially if it does show up!! -
Here in IL you have to wait 60 days if in that 60 days the ISP doesn't respond YES/NO it will automatically be accepted so thankfully I will only have to wait 60 days....and yea its a pain in the nuts to get it done my attorney is charging 500.00 which covers all his and my expenses so its just a waiting game now
I think it should too esp if i can explain my situation im sure this happens alot I mean the DMV is only on their game when it comes to taking your money anything else is a nightmare
And Yes i have sub'd so goodluck to you sir! and well I will cross my fingers for myself in the mean timestnkytrckr Thanks this. -
I just got the call from swift. Criminal record came back completely clean!!! We breifly talked about the license suspension and he said that wouldn't be a problem either since it was not a moving violation suspension. So all is good in my world!!!

Thats awesome man.Im in the works of getting my stuff expunged too.Date is scheduled to start on the 23rd of this month.it was a felony that was dismissed.False accusation.Go figure. But what Im wondering is if I messed up by requesting a background (from Hireright) too early before the expungement or should have waited until after the expungement. Now I dont know if they will keep the records on their database or theyll research it again when an employer request it.But by law i am covered, just would need to send in a letter informing of the expungment. I was about to say that as well,it wouldnt be a problem if it was a non moving violation. Ive been doing tons of research on this stuff . Good luck out there!!!

I do hope it all goes well for you... I would also like to tell you to double and triple check that your suspension will not be an issue..
What has happened to some in the past is that a suspension or spot on the record sis not prevent them from being accepted on to the school or from obtaining there CDL or even the training program.. but then were told they could.not be hired because of their MVR..
I am not saying this is the case or what will happen... Just suggesting you check and check again.. -
Telling the whole truth...IS ALWAYS///the best thing to do...even at the risk of not getting hired. If an employer is on the fence about hiring you then when he does find out ("you got creative in the application/interview process") you will definitely get passed over...but if you are up front and honest you always stand a much better chance at getting hired...Remember once you tell 1 lie...you have to keep telling others to cover the 1st one......Being honest ...really shows a lot about a man's character....IT REALLY DOES....or it really shows the LACK of it.....
Why bring up drugs if I don't have to? We all know that any mention of drugs means your app instantly gets thrown in the trash! I've read stories on here where people got sent home for being truthful and saying they did drugs when they were a teen! So sometimes being completely truthful is not always the best choic
Please direct us to that thread...post and page number....I haven't read every single thread or every single post ..but I've not yet seen that one.
So if I came up with a different reason why it was suspended how would they know? It doesn't say what the court ordered payments were for, only that I missed a court ordered payment. If I told them that my ex took me to court about some furniture we bought together and I had to pay her back do you guys really think they would look into that any further? Or just base their decision on weather they will hire me or not on that? If there is no record of either story I figure they would just have go with what I told them.
So what if they find out ...you know you can " if " yourself right into being a guy that nobody will hire...get caught lying...and it could cost a really great job....Once you tell that lie..you'll have to keep telling it...
I would be ok with not getting hired. But I'm just worried about them giving me a prehire, quitting my job and then getting sent home from orientation.
Then TELL THE TRUTH TO START WITH..... -
Future truck drivers of America will have to have super clean background and driving records. That is a TALL ORDER for many people to fulfill.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.! -
Not true

Well, glad you brought up a 4 year old thread just to say that...
Btw, some people may but realize this but generally the background check guys will have a record of charges and convictions, even if it later was dismissed, or expunged, or whatever.
