I'm a local dump truck driver, but if I was OTR regional driver I will be driving a COE and laugh my way to the bank.
I remember when I left OTR driving in 93, started driving locally in south Florida and some of the guys that were just getting better trucks after their start up truck went to long wheel base OTR type of trucks, I saw many of them got frustrated trying to back up to a tight spot and I show up in and out and they were still trying to back in, I was driving a Ford CLT 9000 like this one.[IMG]

A CLT9000 is a nice truck and looks fantastic when redone. I know that one could buy a COE for $5000 or less and do a complete rebuild, new or rebuilt everything, and spend $60,000 or less. A brand new spec'ed out truck (conv.) will run $150,000 or more. Not to mention all the electronic crap that hurts these old mechanical's, the extra stuff no one needs and the fact that any truck newer than 1999 will have to have ELD's. Love or hate em, that is the truth. Yes, fuel mileage may be worse but, one has to add up all the benefits of both Positive and the negatives. I feel financially, it will benefit me to own and operate a COE.

This one was on TruckPaper.com previously but I guess the owner got scammed so it's back up for sale.
