As a good friend of mine would say in such situations: And what did we learn today?

Run it. Tell them you're short on hours and you have 45 minutes before the truck can't leave for 10 hours. Go inside and shop for food and drinks while they unload you. If they bust your clock, pull forward and refuse to leave. Simple as that.

I've never been detained by a Walmart and very rarely by Sams Club. And Walmart company policy is that they can't force a driver to bust their HOS and make them drive over their hours. Didn't work out well in the past, to the tune of 30+ million dollars.

Lepton1, driverdriver and nax Thank this.

He said, "Western Express" and "WalMart." No eye rolling allowed on a WE/Walmart thread.

RedRover, G13Tomcat and Gunner75 Thank this.

If you can't make it with that kind of eta cushion then trucking ain't for you. Unless your truck is governed at 57 or something like mine. Being in Cali I have an excuse!!

This is TTR. If you have to drive more than six hours a day, you are a slave to the system, clearly not making enough money and thus forced to run ragged to make ends meet.

Don't let anyone hear you say anything about doing a job right, or putting in an honest day's work, you'll be labelled a supertrucker.

    Gunner75 and RedRover Thank this.
