Apex, Superior, Robertsons, Vanguard, something or rather Miller and Sons, etc are all pretty much like this here in So Cal. Don't work for any of them, unless you like risking your life for minimum wage as a "professional driver". Work for pizza hut and make 2-3x as much money.
CR England, Swift, CRST, are much safer and more professional than this lot. Even at $6 an hour.
Not sure about my former company

We drive roads similar to that on a daily basis. Instead of a 6" shoulder drop picture a 500' drop straight down.
I've driven Palmdale Road quite a bit with a gas tanker...semi, doubles, and truck and trailer. It's no problem if a guy pays attention.
I can see, though, that for an I-5 steering wheel holder with limited experience and little in the way of common sense that it might be a challenge.homeskillet and Lonesome Thank this. -
Or if you haven't slept in 2 days it's a challenge
What's an I5 steering wheel holder?
What makes you think I don't have "common" sense? It's not common anymore so that's probably whyLast edited by a moderator: Jul 29, 2017

I5 is not too much of a challenge. Relatively speaking. But only because we have to cross a Nation to get there where Im from. There are quite a few unmarked paved roads ive run where if anyone coming the other way gets half the pavement, maybe a bit more.
One particular two laner has been rebuilt into a 4 laner long time ago, That particular road has my name on it after I was falling asleep and cross the yellow line against another 18 wheeler. I managed to wake up in time to ease her over far enough to not hit him, but think maybe our trailers might have scraped. It was that close. Suffice to say you don't see me ranting about that sort of thing, not after being awake the rest of that one night. But that would be really bad if we collided I would not be here to write about it. -
And I say BS, ya can't name the company, it never happened.Anonymousproxy Thanks this. -
If there was supposed to be some sort of joke there, I missed it too. Since you supposedly got it, how about enlightening the rest of us?Lonesome Thanks this.

There is no former company, the op is screwing with everybody, and doing a good job. The op has all of the super truckers panties in a wad, while he's most likely laughing his ### off.

You are wrong, I'm afraid.
There IS a former company....he goes into great detail (later) about things he's been "called on", such as hours, and night driving, and type of trailer, etc...
He's not "messing" with anyone---just trying to get his experience out there without directly associating his personal identification with the company in question. That's what I see....doesn't make me a "Super Trucker", and doesn't get anyone's panties in a wad.Lonesome Thanks this. -
I wasn't replying to you or even speaking about you, but look at x1heavys post, makes it sound like he's war hero instead of a truck driver.homeskillet Thanks this.

He might be off his meds again......Pay no mind.Lonesome Thanks this.
