Can you down shift while moving? I heard the air shift's don't like that.

 

The 4 speed - yes up or down although I would not go into 1 while moving. Just make sure not to change ranges while changing gears - don't ask joe I know this


The 2 speed not so much while moving

 

I guess 4th is the empty gear? You don't run it loaded, do you?

A couple of King Kong suppositories.

These have been sitting in the field for 6 years & these clowns were worried about scratching the paint.

 

Spent all day in Harvey, IL messing with this thing. Doesn't move under its own power, used 2 cat 980's to drag and push it out from behind their building, then drug trailer under it. Spent 4 1/2 hours blocking it up, raise and lower, change block size until could finally get it up high enough to block it how needed it to be. Finish securing in morning and wait for pilot car with height pole and start to Iron, MN

Ok, I have some questions. On the beam trailer, when you loaded that truck, how do you know how much blocking to put under it? Or, do you block until you are right underneath and then hook up? Also, is the few inches under the tires enough for the complete trip, or can you raise the neck and suspension if you need to?

 

Trial and error, but somewhat along the lines of block until right underneath and then lift trailer so can pull blocks out from under the tires/tracks and set everything to ride height and verify height and ground clearance. There's times I will have to redo stuff once get it in the air to give more ground clearance.

I generally use same size blocks on most loads, occasionally have to use the taller side of a few blocks, and sometimes have to use some of my other smaller blocks to make it work, or even small pieces of plywood.

Tires are good for whole ride, occasionally they rub on off camber corners/dips stuff like that and roll a bit. I can lift everything a little
Higher if need to for some reason
