So I bought an alpine deck for my 01 379, a brand new alpine. Everything on it worked great, then one morning I leave out and it doesn't turn on. Didn't have time to mess with it for a couple weeks. Finally had the chance to pull it out at about 1 pm, the truck hadn't ran in a couple days. The radio was HOT, I couldn't hardly touch it. I assume it's hot from being so close to the roof. There's a yellow wire in the harness that is always hot and a red smaller wire that is only hot with the key on. My question is, did heat ruin my radio or is there a wire that burned it up? Radio fuse on the back of the radio is not blown
Thanks in advance
Radio is FRIED

I forgot to mention the radio worked for a couple months after install just fine

You assumed it had power cause it was close to the roof?

the heat from the roof should not really have been a problem, -
I just removed the old pioneer deck that I couldn't play my phone through and plugged in a new pioneer deck. Did not do any wiring.

Many radios just are not made for trucks. We go through a lot of them, and have only seen those crappy Delphi truck radios last. And I hate them.

Our trucks have kenwoods with satellite. We play in the dirt so we get bounced around more then you road guys. The only thing that keeps blowing are teh speakers. Course, i like my iron maiden LOUD
