Last week I left Monday evening and was done Friday noon. Grossed just over $5 K on 1300 miles incl DH. This week short 2.5 day trip. $2900 on 830 miles. That's all miles. I have a reefer.
What you're offering is a joke. Rates would be a lot higher if people weren't so stupid to be ripped off by your kind.

Yeah really. That's the exact reason why rates overall are so cheap. Lots of dummies willing to work for nothing. They likely have a fleet of operators running at those rates which gives them awesome leverage to undercut rates on everyone else out here.

I'm averaging just over $2.15 right now all miles for dry vans. This is going up because my final numbers for the week are not in. On top of that, if I took a pro-active approach with the drivers on leveraging multiple loads in the box, I could easily see $3 or $4 a mile.

Sorry but $1.15 plus fsc is slave wages to me, I can't see someone with the higher operating costs as a startup being able to survive on that.

First full week out with my truck. I will end up at 2.60 a mile all miles and that includes a long deadhead out of Florida up to savannah. after carrier gets his cut, I will end up at 2.18 all miles for my cut after fsc. Plus I got major support from these guys.

I will have to take a look at my statement Monday but after the fuel discounts, pretty much the same in cost per gallon that you stated.

    This is flatbed.

Good luck finding drivers. Not saying I got the best deal, but Just letting everyone know what's out there.

In their (dummies) defense I can only say, that it may take them a little while to figure that it is peanuts and nothing else. They just don't know any better. Takes about a year with a loadboard to have some understanding of what is cheap and what is not. There is not enough available information to educate on this subject, for newcomers especially. A monthly rate bulletin or a lane rate book could be of some help. I mean here at this forum you can get a little bit understanding by lurking and peeping, as only few will discuss money in real terms, but is that info always true or is it just bragging.

I talking with someone the other day about this very topic. People need guidance when new to anything. Just knowing what a particular freight lane pays for whatever trailer you're pulling would be a huge help to someone when looking for a load when you're new.

My company operates a little different then others. By the way I'm NOT soliciting at all! Please don't ban me. lol

We do paid by the mile, ALL miles.

You supply the truck, base plate, collision insurance, washes every other week, and fuel.

We supply the trailer, liability insurance, IFTA tracking, fuel tax payments, tolls, prepass, loads, billing, authority, office staff, etc. Essentially everything just too much to list.

Its $1.45 per mile all miles like I said. I don't care if your empty or loaded, that's our responsibility. If it's a slow week and you log 2200 miles or less then we bump it to $1.50/mi to help offset the lower mileage a bit.

Normally around 2400 to 2800 miles per week running Midwest regional 650 mile radius of Indy. Home every weekend which is key for a lot of guys/gals.

From what I can tell that is industry leading which is where I want to be. No doubt you can make more doing completely your own thing. But, if you want to buy a truck and lease it on, then I feel it's pretty good. Guys make a good living on our platform.

I would actually like to get these numbers higher and I feel they will. We just have to make sure this market the last couple months keeps up so we don't get ahead of ourselves.

Hope this helps some guys as a benchmark or comparison.

I didn't have any guidance when I started doing it. I was basically just thrown to the wolves so to speak. Not everyone gets it. Not everyone is cut out for it. I've seen drivers given good info and advice, completely ignore it, and still do the same stupid things over and over again and again that they always did... ...and continue complaining they can't ever find a rate, boo hoo. You can't help some people no matter how hard you try. Operators that get it, get it. Those that don't never seem to. I dunno how to explain that any better.

I've networked and become friends with several operators on this forum. The ones running the same equipment as me I know what some of those guys are pulling in sometimes daily. They know what I'm pulling in too. We're always passing rate cons back and forth, sharing info on hot and cold areas, good and bad brokers.

I used to comment on here sometimes about my own rates and you're right it does come across as bragging. Had a few clowns question it and say it wasn't so and most times it turned out because they didn't know wtf they were doing and were usually shooting themselves in the foot anyway saying no-one could possibly... Haha, yeah whatever driver.. So that sort of thing ends up being a waste of space on here and I don't mention things like that anymore.

Wow... that's impossible, most only pay $1.25 a mile, where are you getting this ... nope it can't be true ... no one makes $2 plus a mile, no one ever.

Seriously that's a great start. People can find the work at $2 plus a mile if they want.
