If you don't have any social objections to Google, Google Maps app is hard to beat. It is easily my most used app. It has
    • The most advanced and accurate real-time Traffic you'll find. Simply turn the layer on or off. Much more simple and accurate than relying on the CB or local radio or other traffic signs. If using the routing feature, it will estimate travel time based on current traffic
    • built in auto-correct
    • anticipates search entries remarkable well
    • can find any sort of business you can ever want to search for
    • provides instant directions and distance to
    • built in reviews that most people will utilize and report through
    • more current satellite views than most of the common apps out there who will often subscribe to or buy 5 year old data to save money. Also has a Terrain layer that I actually use some times and find useful being an avid photographer
    • a really great and easy to use "Explore" feature once you're parked for some off-time
    • voice recognition capability
    • easily save favorite spots for future reference and visibility on maps
    • what you do on the phone app, carries over to the desktop web side
    • they keep the app running well, inspite of immense capabilities
I may sound like a Google sales rep but I'm not. In fact I don't care much for the Google Corporation, and refuse to run an Android device. But they have a great product for users who travel extensively and it serves multiple purposes.

Otherwise, I use the free Allstays Truck and Travel app when I'm looking for all various trucking related spots at a glance such as rest areas, parking areas, truck stops, etc.
