They are risking it just think if you get in an accident your fault or not that is fatal you are a professional driver and will be issued a drug test side of the road no questions asked if you fail you could be charged with involuntary manslaughter because they can't prove you wasn't under the influence at the time but it was in your system. This is all worst case but my advice if you want to have this career I would lay off of it just my 2 cents you can certainly do what you want.Shock Therapy, okiedokie, pattyj and 1 other person Thank this.
-
Would you like fries with that?dunchues, austinmike, RoadRooster and 3 others Thank this.
-
You can prove it by having a mouth swab which tells you if you have smoked within the last 3 days.
-
But do States government go by and say that mouth swabs are accurate you can get that done after the fact you are charged..... not worth it in my opinion
-
Yeah I realize if there isn't a legitimate so still smoke and not get in trouble. I'm gonna quit for good. Only reason I still wanna smoke is to relief chronic pain when I'm home. Just like I said in the original post I've seen truck drivers smoke at truck stop so how do they get away from it. My guess most likely not any legal way.
-
I have no problem stopping if it has to go down to that. Was just wondering if they was a legal way to be able to continue my medical prescribed marijuana. But all I got was a bunch of smart ### replies beside from a few people
-
Even if it becomes legal in all states the trucking industry will never except it as being ok it's too hard to test for accurately in my opinion it sucks but is what it is
-
Thank you for your reply. Yeah it sucks I would.never risk losing this job. I'd much rather make my 100k a year and quit smoking weed. But it would be nice to have both.Shock Therapy Thanks this.

They're doing it at risk of their careers.
But that's neither here nor there when it comes to the DOT physical for your medical card. That doesn't involve a drug screening
