Only advice I can give you is you're on a fools errand.
You're going to start hauling cars part time, like it's a newspaper route you do in the afternoons??!!!
I'd suggest Uber or Lyft, with tips you should net the same $.sxdime, brian991219, Ziggy319 and 5 others Thank this. -

so a trip from new Boston to Columbus every sat at 650 a trip 380 miles round trip minus fixed and variable = 300 net. 1 half day after wrk running local del. pays 300 minus expenses, if I do those eight trips a month I will bring home 1800 after everything including taxes I work for the city of Toledo and Bank my overtime in to comp time which I have 18 days off as of now for the rest of the year I'm usually off three months a year, and I am planning on running more than those two trips per week so tell me how that is considered a paper route or Uber and in a year or two I can hire a full time driver

Getting back to this man's actual question. It will have enough power but I don't recommend that truck because that little cat motor I'd a massive pile of crap. If I were you I would find a class 7 ford with the Cummins in it.
Timmytwotime Thanks this. -

Nucar Carrier has been hauling cars for what I can guess to be nearly 25 years. Or more? I would suggest you listen to people like him.
As an aside, you will have to log all of your hours that you work at your day job as it counts against your hours of service that you are legally allowed to work as a commercial driver. Additionally you will also have to compound that with meeting the Elog mandate beginning in Dec.
As far as your class 5/6/7 trucks. It is the gearing & trans you will have to pay special attention to. Most that I found years ago were set up for local 0-100 mile radius. They really were not set up for 300-400 mile trips.
I like CAT, but not the C7's. Would stick to C12/C15. I have never owned a Cummins ISM/ISX or Detroit, so will not comment about them.Ziggy319, brian991219 and Timmytwotime Thank this.
