Because you are no longer a compagnydriver.
You operate a bussiness.
Time to change your attitude.
Could you make money on that Chicago run?
If so .................just do it,it is better then what you got now.
AND Chicago..............strike 1
First Laredo short run..................Strike 2
Second Laredo run.................strike 3
That's how your dispatch sees it.

Those rates are terrible. I'm a company driver now and I made $1/mile gross last year, almost exactly. W2 said $71K, and Peoplenet said I drove 71,500 miles (rounded to nearest hundred of course). Private fleets, people. At those rates being responsible for the equipment too is just not worth considering.
TallJoe Thanks this. -
Walk away from them. They don't care about your business. You're competition .

He's not their competition, he's their meal ticket.Western flyer, QuietStorm, diesel drinker and 1 other person Thank this.

Exactly, never understood why guys won't go to Chicago. As soon as I hear a driver say that, interview is over. Just too much opportunity to avoid Chitown.

Not getting shot is a good reason.JL of Indiana Thanks this.

Who do you drive for?
-
I get one load assigned out of every blue moon. They never assigned me loads out of there as flatbed or TCU before. So I don't lose anything. You don't understand why drivers don't want to bring a 72ft rig into downtown Chicago where it's hard just for cars to go through? Well if I drive 48 states and rarely go there and don't get paid anymore than usual to go there, why would I risk an accident in that #### hole?
-
Well I was told to say no to #### loads. All day bumping a dock and waiting? Back and forth shag runs? I'd spend more in fuel then I'd make with shag runs. I was told to say no to #### and I did. I was told it's okay to say no, apparently not.

Frito Lay, under the OTR Driver classification, in a non-union plant for what it's worth.
