Oil Leaking From Exhaust Manifold

I had a truck that did that, in my case it was soot and the coolant from leaking head gasket was flushing it out.
Wound up doing an inframe.

 

what motor do you have because on isx it was valve seats that were leaking.

 

if you idle a lot it might be slobering unburnt fuel also mixing with soot making it look like oil.

 

Wipe some off and smell it

 

Or taste it.

 

When I worked at NC Power systems in Seattle we had a 1000kw gen that was run with a 1500hp 3412. Had compound turbo's on each bank so 4 total. Started it up one cold winter day as the truck driver hooked up to it to haul it off. It was in a 40' container. Well it didnt have an idle mode, just start and full tilt boogie to 1800rpm but it did have a cold mode. So it was running and smoking white to beat hell and it went into cold mode dropping cylinders so that it could warm up faster. Well one turbo was in the center of the head and the other was at the rear of the engine over the flywheel housing. Well in cats engineering wisdom they just used a very light press fit exh joint from the low pressure turbo on the head to the high pressure turbo on the flywheel housing. Well when you got 1500hp worth of fuel in a 50 degree engine it dosent all burn. Then it leaks out of that joint and when the driver see's it through the open door he got a little freaked and ran off but I just laughed. Lol
