Just bought a 1997 Marmon 57P. The original owner ordered it from the factory and took delivery in January, 1997. He passed away about 18 months ago and had the truck until he died. It was purchased from his family about 6 months ago, and I bought it last weekend.

It has a Caterpillar 3406C Mechanical engine in it, with an 8 speed (plus a granny low). Just drove it 1550 miles back to Texas, the state that Marmons were built in. Doing a little work to it, mostly TLC type stuff, but may need a new radiator.

Really glad to have found this truck, it runs and drives like a new vehicle. Every time I stopped to get fuel, people took pictures of it, and people were making videos of it while I was driving it.

Going to use it to pull my race trailer, which only weighs 21,000lbs., so it should have an easy pull.

WOW...luv'in the color yellow, i always did.

Marmons were as you know, hand built, to specs, and cost a "pretty penny" back in the day. i do not think anyone spent that kind of money and beat on them, as this one looks "showroom condition"

it would have been subsequent owners after the original, to have beat on them, i know, i have seen way too many in bone yards.

i wish you all the best, and yes, loads that light it should last YOU a lifetime as well..

    GOOD LUCK...!!!!!!

PS, it does appear that the strap on the left tank has moved forward a bit....???

In the early 90's I was doing driveaway work. One of my fav parts wss grabbing Marmons out of the factory, decking them, then rolling out for delivery. Always got a bit of attention whenever I stopped.

I initially read this title as "Just bought a MORMON" and thought well this oughtta be interesting. But this is even better than buying a religion specific person dude! Great truck it's gorgeous! Love that hood ornament.
