A few months ago, if I recall correctly. Just about the time I started with Roehl.
Phoenix is closed as well. Still has a dispatch office for western flatbed and a yard, but the school went bye bye.
Roehl has been consolidating the schools into the midwest area (Marshfield and Gary).

Yeah I understand. My posts are hard to follow because I end up writing everything that comes to mind.. it doesn't help that I type at 130 WPM. The end result is an unedited free-for-all of disconnected thoughts and rambling...very Gonzo if you ask me.
But to anyone who is reading... I am the very definition of a success story in this industry, and I don't mean that from a narcissistic point of view. I went from living nearly in the streets of San Francisco, to being on track to homeownership (but not in San Francisco, could never afford that place.) The motivation was my children first, but the desperation I felt when I had only $25 a week to live off of in America's most expensive West Coast city was enough to make me never want to go back.
Anyways, I want to encourage the OP to follow through with it. Just when you think you can't do it, keep doing it. The reward will pay off.Pghnerd Thanks this. -
I will be starting school here in the Chicago area and used the WIOA program. The grant pays for schooling just like @crappiejunkie said. Go into your unemployment office and ask about the program. The funding just became available again here in Chicago this month and I'd assume all over the country as well so thats 1 option.

Recovering addict.. Your drug of choice? Don't have to type it out..if it was something hardcore then don't go into trucking. Having a relapse while trucking is a fast way to go to prison. Having a relapse from hardcore drugs is a real possibility for anyone.
I was clean for about 4 months before I started driving. The minute my bank account started filling up,Mary Jane started screaming my name. Meth, pills, powder those urges are always going to be there since they are psychological substances that make your brain has much has body reliant. -

I don't know how it works in OP's area but in indy people would go to the unemployment office and the state would pay the cost of going to a cdl mill and the cost of the driving tests. I don't know the ends and outs of the whole deal but if I were you I would call my locale unemployment office and inquire about it to see if they maybe have some kind of the same program in your area.

That particular CDL mill that I posted fronts the money for the expense of the school based upon your job history and the likelihood of a companys willingness to hire you. They only take the risk for people who have a stable job history otherwise you would need to pay cash up front.

Husband went through this program in Indiana and they paid for his housing too. It took about 6 weeks to finally be approved
