Hey Rebelgrad, Soon as i get my class A in early spring ill be applying at TMC, keep the good info coming, any info i can get is most appreciative so as to help us newbies with any advice we can get Keep up the good work Peterbilt79
TMC doesn't care how tightly (or not) you wind your straps, but they don't want them left on the winches. The winder will be very much appreciated as opposed to handrolling 12-14 straps, though. Definitely worth the $25, and if you can score one for less you're golden.
Saturday, It was all hands on load securement. They broke us into groups of 4 and we went from station to station deciding on how best to secure the loads they had in the training area. (coils, grease bars, sheet metal, roll roofing, shingles.) Hone at 2pm Today , we will be taking our test over all that crap. which should be fairly easy because they gave the test two days ago to study. Then we will be tarping all the loads.
Hey Rebel, ....so it looks like its a pretty fast paced environment. Exercise some common sence, stay on top of things, and pay attention a person should do well. Best of luck on your test today. R/ Frat
Frat, Thats just about right. Just exercise a little integrity and responsibility and this stuff is a breeze. Rebel
Hey Rebel Have not seen a post from ya in a while. Thought I would see how things were going in "boot camp".
Hey rebel, I'm in a federal job right now for the Air Force. Got my pre-hire card today for TMC in the mail. Most people would say your crazy for leaving a federal job but I was a truck driver 2 yrs ago for 5 years. I have to admit I miss it BAD!! Keep up the post. Thanks
well rebel it looks like TMC is the same way I left it 10 years ago, that what I guess you call being consistent, at this phase every who is still in your group has a garanteed job with TMC, they might still make everyone who just came out of a trucking school or has less than 6 months experience do 1 week of driver training, all you mostly will be doing is more backing and getting use to driving with a loaded trailer, good luck SIMPLE723
Hey Rebel... When they post your graduation picture in the TMC website...make sure you point out who ya are....
I'll be finishing drivers training Dec 8th. I applied to TMC on line. I havent heard anything yet, I hope to. Im in NY, 40 miles south of Albany 100 miles North of NYC, is this a good area for TMC??
