I have thought carefully before posting this however each day adds to my bewilderment so I must ask the question. What has happened to the professional drivers of America. Use to be as a kid on my dad's cab-over truckers were banned together in brotherhood, two finger waves to one another, sitting and talking at truck stops and another driver was not a stranger just a friend you haven't met yet. Mile after mile of talking on the radio. Now you can't even get a trucker to wave back at you on the road, hell most won't even say thank you for holding the door open for them. It started with the invasion of foreign drivers but has now taken hold of the American men and women drivers. Come on drivers!!!! Straighten

This is a Great Thread that has begun.......A Lot of Truth here
I Must agree with Puppage, Selfish World that only thinks of monetary advances...

I Personally Believe society itself has part to blame- Its structured financially where the working man just gets by doing a modest days work......Wages haven't followed inflation in the last 15 years or so.

I Do Believe that plays a Role,BUT its still no excuse why drivers cannot communicate amongst one another- Its Really sad.

    I wouldn't say it's due to foreigners.

Look around, they're the only ones still waving to each other and talking at truck stops lol

I think it slowly started happening when the trucker's pay was getting worse err not keeping up with inflation. Lower pay brings in lower quality people. I liked the term some other board member said "If all you pay is peanuts, all you're going to find is monkeys." And these megas take just about anyone, train them very little JUST to pass the test and then throw them in the wild to fend for themselves. It's abit of a wake up call just being thrown out there not knowing jack #### versus being a co driver for someone more experienced for a couple months even a year and having them show you the ropes teach you backing and teaching you about road etiquette. Don't get me started on these foreigners, most of us respect the big rig as we know the damage it can cause but #### these foreigners I don't know if it's because they don't know or they don't care but it doesn't excuse all the reckless things they do on the road in those big rigs.

You pull open deck? We're still a brotherhood.

The door swingers that leave trash and worse in parking lots. The white Volvo Mafia from the Windy City wearing flip flops and wife beaters. The container hauler passing you in construction zones. Those and others have ruined it. Are some open deck guys guilty? Sure. But open deck guys still stick together and help each other out.

I feel sorry for the idiots working at megas chugging along at 58 mph with a macro on a Qualcomm telling them when to pull over.

Oh and leave the dang headset in the truck. You look dumb. That and at least put on a clean shirt ya slob.

I understand. If King Kong is smashing trucks on the other side of the road I don't even bother to say anything on the radio anymore. I hardly ever come back to this form either because of some post just take off if you ask something silly, but if you have a real serious question or problem you might get maybe 5 replys.

Great Post DDlight- Went to East Peoria the other day to unload some steel- man in front of me had his tarps on the ground- Checked in-Before I removed a single bungee- I was helping him fold up without hesitation-Made his day-It really did.

The Little things we do for one another makes a huge difference in another drivers day- Sure,You may get someone that wont appreciate it- But Who cares.

It Don't matter What you Pull-Where your From...Communicate with me- That's ALL- communicate-Turn that radio on,Sit down with me at the Hen House for a cup of coffee- share some laughs.

All you see are Angry-Wound up Drivers with no Personality whatsoever.........

Needs to get back the way it HAS to be.
