Could you imagine a fella having this conversation with a call girl?
"Yeah honey, if you drop your rate from $2grand a day to $1200, you would make more money because you would get porked more often. I have 2 girls working for me and they all like it."VTech, Airborne, PeteyFixAll and 7 others Thank this. -
You continue to be a master of words Six!!!TripleSix, Jasonar15 and DDlighttruck Thank this.

Yeah, but he's not doing the work. So at that point it all becomes a matter of doing the math, how much more can you make doing this vs that per mile, how much do you spend running those miles, etc, and you do whatever makes sense financially.
Basically he's the scumbag street pimp, not the call girl. -
Pimpin ain't easy
cke, PeteyFixAll, CharlieK and 1 other person Thank this. -
That phrase has always bugged me a bit. Lower cost if you own your own truck? How do you figure that?cke, PeteyFixAll and DDlighttruck Thank this.

Me Too!!
A paid for truck cost just as much as a financed truck costs just as much as a leased/rented truck!!!
Yes it's roughly true!!
No not the exact cost, there are variables, like interest and residual value etc.? You can pay for the parts and upkeep or pay for the financing and use,,,,
But point is, the cost per unit of use is very similar and it's a question of
Pay me now or Pay me later?
Either way your gonna Pay!!Gregstruck70, Airborne, CharlieK and 3 others Thank this. -
sorry that phrase has always bugged you. I said/wrote it wrong. I was replying to his "I have 2 drivers and two trucks and trailers, all paid for". Since he owns his trucks and I don't he has lower costs than I do. I am not the smartest block. Please let it stop always bugging you!!cke Thanks this.

Your always going have maintenance costs even on newer trucks, less the payment though. He has the option to just park them without them costing money every week or month.I get what your saying but if I drove my Chevy or Ford for 10 years I am sure the cost savings is better than just driving 4 years.

If you are in Bussiness,
Do Yourself a Favor and take the time to write out the Actual Costs involved in doing it each way. In Reality they are a lot closer than most would believe!
It truly is a matter of when you pay for it, and "your cost of money" (either out of your savings or borrowed) either lost interest or paid interest!
Yes without a payment one has some more freedom of not having a payment,,
But it still HAD to be PAID for, It wasn't FREE!!!
And while it sits it is still COSTING,,, on several levels.
And no the cost of operating a truck, (Maintenance) is not the same across the life, or age of the equipment, as many believe!!
A brake job on a newer truck may mean shoes and drums.
That "same" brake job on an older truck May Actually be Drums, Pads, Hardware, rollers, AND S-cams, And S-cam Bushings, And Slack adjusters,, Among a few other "Incidentals"
And Chances are your Ford or Chevy is not a good example...
Most likely it is a total expense!! Even if it is legitimately used for business!CharlieK, Jeck, DDlighttruck and 1 other person Thank this.
