OK, I agree with all that you posted there, with one exception. Goodwill Industries. They hire and train many developmentally disabled individuals. People who just would not be able to find any other work. So they pay them minimum wage, so what. At least they are working and can feel some pride in themselves.
I agree completely about your give to list.
When I was still in high school, we had a major flood in the Arkansas Valley. I got hired on by the state, then loaned out to both Salvation Army and Goodwill. I've seen first hand how they operate, or at least did back then, and both outfits have my total respect.
OTOH, the Red Cross can take a flying #### on a rolling tire as far as I'm concerned. Again, from what I saw as a high school kid in the aftermath of that flood.

This area ain't far from me at all. I can't began to think how it's going to be to return to the homes in my area. They will be flooded for the next two weeks.

The Houston floods of 15 and 16 were called 500 year floods
The Louisiana floods of 16 were called 500 year floods.
The floods of Columbia sc and other areas were called 500 year floods
The Atlanta area floods were called 500 year floods. And the Nashville floods some years back were all called 500 year floods.

And now this is being labled a 800 year flood? The thing is if it's known that there is a cycle then why not get prepared for it? Oh because there ain't no darn 500 and 800 year floods. So witch is it going to be. 500 year floods or global warming?

 

This isn't the first case of folks having contact with police in all of this. Some ppl with boats are saying since Tuesday it's like the cops don't want anybody doing nothing. Witch is crazy because if the ppl would have waited on any level of govt help. They would have perished. It's been the common folk that have saved most of the ppl around here.

 

What an Ahole!!!!!!Cops would be better off spending their time at a doughnut shop and let the real heros proceed with saving ppl.

I just committed to picking up a load headed to Houston. The load pays 50% more than the load I turned down last week. I guess freight rates are starting to reflect the risk. It pays enough for me to deadhead back to OKC and still hit my target $/mile.

Here's hoping to a relatively clean (dry) route to delivery. I pick up the load Tuesday morning, Hazmat barrels aka barrels of fun. I need to get to Home Depot to make more v-boards.
