I used to do it while at builders because the load securement guy used to give us #### about how many bungees it's go through, so I'd keep them to show him how many I'd go through from one week to the next
Melton, I think you might need to replace some bungees...

Let's see the thugs of today jack this baby up with Conestoga wheels.Grubby Thanks this. -
@windsmith if they were whole intact bungees in the beginning they wouldn't have fit through the holes that keep the intact side from falling through. I've never figured out why these guys do it unless you need a broken bungee to exchange for a new one from your mega. Oh yeah, rubber is a terrible conductor, so an anti static strap would be as useless as a Turbo3000d
Highway Sailor and windsmith Thank this. -
I was told by one of our drivers they did it to keep the snow and ice off the steps in winter. When they drug on the ground it would cause the hook to move breaking up frozen snow or ice. I don't do it so I don't know if it works.

Probably the same expression you'd get when they ask you what a CB radio is.Grubby, OLDSKOOLERnWV and Blackshack46 Thank this.

Most people just use their sidewalls for curb feelers these days.
QuietStorm and Grubby Thank this. -
That was the policy where I used to work. If you requested more bungees, or straps you would have to bring broken ones back or they would charge you for the new ones. Their reasoning was drivers were selling their bungees and other equipment . Who would of thought?

Like streamers on your bicycle handle bars? Gives you a good idea of how much wind you're creating.... Lol.Grubby Thanks this.
