hi guys, I been doing lessons for my mc, my question I want to ask is I'm having trouble changing down going up hills, can someone tell me can you go from 7H to 6H then use yr half gears to build speed back up, or is there a pattern that I can try thanks

R/R usually means either, Remove/Replace or Remove/Repair
maybe a title like "shifting suggestions"? -
You can do pretty much whatever you want with an 18 (within reason lol). They are very versatile. Just think of it as a 9 speed that allows you to split each gear. Shifting an entire gear without using the splitter won't hurt a thing. Most times when I use an 18 its an empty or bobtail truck so I just stick to the H pattern without using the splitter until I hit top gear.
Lepton1 and austinmike Thank this. -
thanks mate, the ist trailer has 16t concrete block, second trailer a empty 20t container, so going up hill, just stick to full gear changing down not half gearsLepton1 Thanks this.

You could always go thru his shifting class

BLAM BLAM!
I feel so bad for that truck.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Wtf , who would drive their own truck that way.
People doing stupid things and the proof on self video
That's like doing drugs on camera or posing with illegal weapons
Could easily get back to owner or fleet , he didn't even hide his identity
I don't understand why this is such a fad -
Totally fine to do that. I do it all the time and it makes it a lot easier.

I guess some do it different but I kick out of gear when down splitting , split , then put it back in gear .
When up splitting I just split , release the throttle , then resume throttle.
And I don't split many gears , if real heavy just split the top 2 gears , if lighter I run through the gears in down split then just split up in top gear .
If that makes sense -
Its all about speed timing and revs i do this all day long hauling 34 cubic metres up some pretty decent climbs i have a KW k-104 with a 560 detroit and use every single bit of horse power and gear in the 18 speed what you do is as the revs go down usually between 300- 400 you clutch in rev up to previous revs say 1500 -1600 gear down should go straight in. if its a small hill just flick back the splitter clutch in let out its thats simple.Lepton1 Thanks this.
