well for one thing how can said inspector prove you are the one that took it to the shop ?
my guy will come and get my truck here in town if I am to busy to get it to him .
By law anything done to and with the truck is supposed to be logged .
By practice nothing done to or with the truck gets logged unless it is dispatched work .
Any log book theoreticians here?

When I had my audit last year there was some I loged and some I didn't. The officer never brought it up.
TallJoe Thanks this. -
I am the only one to be allowed to drive the truck. No-one else is hired or insured. I don't worry about this as much, it would be preposterous to fine someone for not logging it, especially for the first time. Anyway, I think it is interesting to know if these things must be logged or not in relation to the e-log mandate, since all little truck errands may be recorded, and if so, 34 resets could be nullified.

Here in lies the problem. With e logs those miles have to end up under someone? I guess you could have it towed?

DOT man: Truck is looking pretty nice, looks like you just detailed it.
Driver: Yep, did it this weekend at home on my reset.
DOT man: Hmmm, really.
FMCSA Inspection Report: 395.8(e) False report of driver's record of duty status.
