I'm convinced Missouri does not want people to travel to Illinois. They either design and construct bridges and on ramps to restrict travel or make it as difficult as possible. Now they are closing the only reasonable way us truckers have to get across the river coming north until February. Take a look at their proposed detour. Wish you guys luck that aren't from here! They should have built a way to get on the new bridge if you're traveling north, but apparently that would have to be torn down 30 FREAKING YEARS from now when they build a companion bridge beside it.

but it's better than suggested by modot detour.Canned Spam Thanks this.

Oh yeah, I completely agree. As a local driver though it would be a huge and timely detour to go all the way around like that.mhyn Thanks this.

You could take the MLK bridge across the river.
Canned Spam Thanks this. -
Or the Eads bridge, but both you have to get off the freeway for and neither options are that easy in a big truck with traffic. I work in St. Louis, but load like 97% of my fuel in IL then deliver it back to Missouri almost exclusively. I'm crossing the bridge all day long

Concrete? Or asphalt full of bomb craters?

As someone who now lives in Kansas City. I would like to point out that in 1985 the umpire called him safe so he was safe.
