hey catwrech 55. I want to become an o/o and lease on with a company. Trying to figure out where to start first. Did you have to from a company like an LLC, then register with the state, and then lease on with a company? if so the the settlements you get are in the Company's name and then you pay your self and your drivers from the company's name bank account.

This is how I do it now yes. Pay myself just like another driver.
To start with I just operated as a sole proprietor. I did file with the county to get a EIN and registered a DBA but that really isn't a necessity if you are just gonna lease on.

    Skypilotj Thanks this.

    Good info CATWRENCH55, thanks

How does Legacy Bulk pay their O/Os? 90/10 split? How is their dispatch? Do they keep you mostly in the EFS or do you all run out to the Permian as well?

    The lease is 21.3%
You only have to pay for your bobtail/non trucking
Wex fuel cards "nice discount in network"
    Pay direct deposit weekly
    24 hr. Dispatch
Been working in East Tex/ LA and just did a couple wells inPermian.
The owner and manager are ex sand haulers so understand what is expected and how things work in the field.

Are you still in the business? I’m looking to get my trucks out there. I have my own authority and not looking to give it up. Worked to hard for it. Please advise the best route. Thank You Robert B

The advantage in an LLC taxed as an S-corp is in the taxes and ways to keep more of your money , like with a SEP IRA, paying a reasonable wage and taking the rest as distributions. In Texas you can do the whole LLC online.

Capital Preservation = finding ways to keep more money while reducing tax liability.

Deductions = spending money to save paying more taxes.

The driving is the easy part, learn the business before becoming an O/O.
