I refused a route that would have put me in Tallahassee, FL around 2-6am Monday. Something about delivering food in a strong hurricane sounds unsafe.
Given the way my 'leadership' has been acting, I'm sure they have a write or even a termination waiting on me.
If I can't get help from human resources, which is in Temple, Tx, what is the best course of action?

You should never do anything you don't feel safe doing, within reason of course. I wouldn't be taking a load into an area under an active hurricane warning either. You get blown over or flooded out, it'll go on you and your record.

I wouldn't do it either, but I'm sure the mega carrier pointy heads with all of 2 brain cells to rub together and the common sense God gave a rock would compare wanting to stay away from Hurricane Alley with simply not wanting to deliver anywhere with snow on the ground.

Dispatch always tells drivers to do stuff that they have no idea on. It is your life/license, be safe as possible. Tomorrow is another day. Take the load as far as you feel safe and park in a decent truck stop. Call the receiver on Monday and find out what's up. Day by day driver. There are a thousand trucking jobs out there. If they push you then it was never meant to be anyway. Be safe.

I would get as close as I think I would remain safe. As said above, it you end up with you rig turned over it will be blamed on you. More important, you could end up dead. It's even likely there will be no one there to receive you and no power on either.

Um.. why would this fall under safety?? They have a pretty sad case of refusal to work.. but that's not safety related at all..
