I got over 500,000 out of a set of those Yokohama drives. Or maybe it was TY577? Bought them as brand new virgins and recapped them one time with Goodyear uni-circle caps. Got my money's worth for sure. I believe I had $4,500 in those drives from brand new and being capped.
Towards the end of this summer though I got lax, actually this past year, on keeping my air pressures set. I used to be very picky about that. I paid the price too.
Never had a blow out on any of my equipment in over 7 years but I had 3 of those drives blow out on me this summer. And it was completely my fault had nothing to do with them being caps.
Those blow outs cost me $700 more so I ended up having $5,200 in those tires over 6 years. I figured it was time to get new tires before they really cost me. Luckily they didn't tear my truck up when they blew.
Still good. I pulled the last ones off my truck today and hauling them off for disposal. Brand new virgin Fuelmax Goodyear Marathons on there now.
Opening up a trucking company. Limited experience. What could go wrong?

I think they are 295/75 22.5. I forgot you got a step. I'm at home right now, the truck is 50 miles away at our farm. Got a short run early in the am and if i remember to, I'll double check the tire model number. And ya they are pricy, but if they last longer they are worth it, just like a Michelin steer, pay more upfront and last nearly twice as long.Hurst Thanks this.

Workers comp is only $100 per month? Not anywhere I have been. Try more like 22% of gross wages. That's the big reason everyone tries to pay 1099.
If it works for you then great. Hope no one gets hurt on the job.
What about unemployment insurance? In Illinois I have to pay it even on myself with my own llc. Nothing like skirting the law?
I worked as a company driver on 1099 but it was not at .45 per mile. I understood the personal risk.spyder7723 and RollingRecaps Thank this. -
I'm all about paying now or pay later.
I'm willing to experiment on an axle. Its just money right? LOL.
At almost twice the cost of the tires I'm using now.. I would need to get almost twice the life to make that a smart purchase. I dont mind paying more for a better product or service. But it still needs to balance itself out, spending money frivalously just to say I bought the best doesnt make sense.

You probably had 577's. I check the air pressure in all of my tires 5 - 6 times a week.. during winter. During summer its every single pre-trip.. first thing I do is stab every valve for pressure.. air up as needed. Doesnt take much out of my time to do. Brakes and tires are most critical to me.
The 517's were great for the first 50%. I just didnt get the life out of them that I was expecting. They seemed to wear down quickly after the 50% point.
I've got about 30k on these General HD660's on now. Doing well so far. Still too early to give an honest opinion.

Sounds like you look at things the same way i do. It's all about the long term cost. Some times that means going with a cheap brand of xyz, other times it means breaking open the wallet.Hurst Thanks this.

I know this is a general question, but how much tax on average is payroll tax?
I'm trying to figure out how much should the gross pay for an employee be in order for them to net $1,000. -
I might be wrong but i remember it was %14
-
Ok, so basically the driver will have to gross $1,140 in order to net $1,000
-
If they didn't owe any federal income tax, any state income tax, or any local income tax sure!
