We just picked up our load and our trailer has no plates. I have the valid registration for it and my company says I'm good to go like that. I don't completely trust this. I know it may invite an inspection but I'm unsure about tickets, CSA points, etc. We're going from PA to UT. Anyone have any info on this?

Welp- Plate probably Broke off like the thousands of others from our wonderful roads we have

I Lost a Plate 3 months ago- the whole Bracket broke away from the Trailer

NY patrol stopped me and asked what happened- Showed him Registration-

"You getting a new one? Well,Sure once I make a New Bracket- "Have a nice day"

Get a piece of cardboard and write on it with a majic marker, " Plate Lost". Hang it on the back and go for it.

The good thing is the trailer IS registered, the bad thing is a cop will have to pull you over for you to prove it (by showing the registration) In theory, your co. gets a new plate and then has to figure out how to get it to the trailer somewhere in this country ! Meanwhile, you're right, a cop pulls you over, to ask about the plate, and decides to give you an inspection.

Run at night, like I did. actually ( whispering) now it can be told, I hauled a lot of railroad cans, sometimes 2 or 3 per day and some didn't have a plate, so I carried an extra with me from some storage trailer, and when I dropped it, I took the plate with me. Hey, I figured, ANY plate was better than nothing, and it worked. I don't recommend that today.:p

Bad idea. You are now telling that you know you have no plate. You can't legally operate without one and playing dumb is the best answer. You will get stopped to check out the lost plate thing.

Yup, and that will probably be the tip of the iceberg,,,Today, that's the 1st thing I'd check, even before I'd check the tires. No plate, no go,,,period.

I'm thinking buzz was joking.in requards to the op his company said hesgood to go because he has a registration but I won't wanna travel that far without a plate you're inviting cops to stop and inspect.
