So i've delivered a load yesterday. Took them about an hour to unload. Guy brings me signed bol to the cab. All good. I pull from the dock, go to close doors..and there is a pallet on my trailer. They left a pallet on. Two of them were unloading it. Guy who brought me bol walked by dock door. And they left a pallet on. How do you explain that. I cant

Walking by a dock door doesn't equal looking into a trailer. Each guy must have assumed the other grabbed it.

They both probably walked away thinking the other guy would grab it. When I worked docks, this happened quite a bit. The forklift operators or the yard hostler would usually find it before the driver hooked up to it. But every now and then there would be a driver standing out by the back of his trailer looking at it, scratching his head. We'd make the original operators go out and get it as we all cat called them. Might as well have fun at someone else's expense

Perhaps overage they didn't want to keep or rejected for defect....I assume you cleared it up prior to departure.

Im thinking they did not want it. Or you moved out too fast without checking that trailer. I always always always checked for tow motors and souls in that dam reefer before pulling from dock even if I have to walk the two miles twice to and from it.

You got a problem there. Reject or not? Pretty smooth on their part... I don't like it.

What does that signed BOL say? Any OSD reject count and product listed?

I've had multiple stop loads, first drop is a grocer, lumper gives me bills and lumper receipt, but notes they're 80 cases short. Okay.

Pull away from dock, go inside the trailer and there on the back of the rest of the pallets is an 80 case pallet that has their name on it!

It happens. Sometimes those people have brain farts or otherwise don't have their brains fully engaged. You have to do the thinking for others in addition to your own situation.

Bills are signed received in full? On paper that wagon is empty...
Now is where you have to ask yourself how honest a person you are...is this a good receiver or are you jerked around every single time without fail? Let your moral compass be your guide..

Once had bills signed full & complete.

3/4's of reefer box still full of steaks & roasts.

After visions of one mighty grand bbq, walked back in & did the right thing. Should have seen the look on the receiving managers face. Priceless...!

Needless to say, I have NEVER had any problems of ANY sort getting unloaded at this customer ever since. Manager told me to ask for him personally anytime I deliver & things go smooth as gravy. LOL
