I have a misdemeanor charge back in 03 for theft.(with wrong guy wrong time.) I have disclosed every thing to my recruiter. But I am worried he's just tryin 2 push it through. I don't know. Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

THAT probably WON'T BE A BIG DEAL. HELL, LOTS OF TRUCKING cO'S HIRE EX-FELONS.

For most companies, three years is what they look at, and yours is a misdemeanor. Don't sweat it. Companies like Swift make more money on new guys like you, than on experienced guys who make more per mile, so unless you go in stoned or drunk, and demonstrate that you can move the thing from point a to b, you're good.
FZ37 and roostercruiser Thank this. -
I think(as a former swift driver) that you might be O.K. but it depends on the current feelings of the company. Jerry has just taken the co. back over from his son/son in law) whatever things will be in transistion for WHILElive with it. you might do O.K.roostercruiser Thanks this.

On a lighter note: You may want to know that most swift drivers do not use or own a CB. If your CB handle is the same( roostercruiser) going to work for swift is kind of funny.
There are a lot of jokes about Swift but my wife came up with the best:
So What It's Frigging(the nice word) Temporary.
The economy is in a down turn but people still need truckers. There is still a shortage of truck drivers even with a down turn so I think you will be ok. I assume you mentioned a month because of orientation. Unless things have changed you will not be out of work a month. You will be paid some pennies. I do not know now but Swift was on a 4X4 system and was talking about going to a 4X6. 4X4 is 4 weeks with a trainer and 4 weeks with another new driver. 4X6 of course is 6 weeks with another new driver. That is probably the scarest part of it all. In a truck stop or at a dock it can be entertaining.
Most new drivers that do alright going forward have a lot of problems backing up. I have suggested to many to find an empty Petro back lot and practice but I have yet to see this.
A misdemeanor is not a problem so ease your mind there. Unless you are applying for a job where money is involved your misdemeanor theft is about the same as a misdemeanor speeding. Swift would rather the theft seeing how you will be driving and not counting money.
roostercruiser Thanks this.
