I signed on with a Union outfit a while back and must have gotten some bad info at orientation because after 3 days I bailed! Alot of the guys I worked next to in Jessup said it was definitely bad info. But I guess I kind of ruined my chances.

I can't speak for Moore or even for US carriers but we have the same issues in Canada. There's one company owned by a single man the realized if you get guys that are used to making $1.50 a mile hauling a dry van and convince them to buy a highmount and offer them $2.50 a mile they'll all come running. Now he's gone to all the manufacturers and cut rates by %30. I know he can't last like this but do I want to wait for him to fall ??
I wish people just stayed in their own lanes

They a famous for spoon feeding drivers good loads in the beginning. I know numerous drivers that jumped ship to there and then have subsequently left.

Moore got a bunch for freight they are bidding on, I don't see how they'll touch it

While I wasn't hauling cars when Swift got into car hauling I have heard some of what happened when they did. They hired a bunch of rookie drivers and tore up a bunch of freight. They didn't haul cars for very long. I believe that the free market eventually rights itself, not always for every one and not always quickly. When the rates get too low and the people who are skilled carhaulers decide they won't haul for those rates the cars sit. Eventually the manufacturers realize they would rather pay a reasonable rate for a skilled service. I am happy with my current income, but in 30 years I have never agreed to work for less today than I did yesterday. If it were to come to that point I will take my toys and go elsewhere.

Unfortunately swift still has car haulers... Not very many but I still see them every once in a while.

I see the chassis and van haulers, but I thought Blue Thunder was their successor in carhaul who is no more. I haven't seen one but my world is fairly small now days.

I think a lot of those are soft sides that weren't relettered...I could be wrong.

They're back to hauling Sprinters out of Laredo, I believe is what I've heard. I think it's all just flat deck stuff, but I haven't seen any with my own eyes.
