some states allow it. but other states do not honor if you have a concealed carry permit from another state if your not permitted through that state. For instance, you are from Florida and have a permit. Now your in Pennsylvania with your Florida permit with a gun. Pennsylvania officials may not honor your Florida permit and you will be screwed, locked up and gun seized. Don't know how you go about getting permit in all the states, doubt you can. Check out a website call www.carryconcealed.net this has a lot of info. on the subject.

If you are licensed in Utah it is recognized by more states than any other.........I forget the term they use for it...And you don't have to live in Utah to do it.....I think 39 other states recognize theirs.
Lurchgs and photolurp2 Thank this. -
Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jerkski, and the peoples republik of Kalifornia are some of the states where you don't want to be found with a firearm. There are some states that will honor any other state's license to carry, however there are more states that do not.

Very well put, Joetro! Some people just don't get it. They don't want guns around their families until they are the victum of a horrible crime. Then they can't get a hold of one fast enough. Of course, the can't understand that once guns are illegal, they would be criminals for possessing one too!
Not exately gun related but can along the same train of tought: I hav ebeen in the Army for more than 18 years. A veteran of 4 wars/ conflicts, and 2 peace keeping missions (Bosnia and Kosovo). It's funny how the bullets don't look or sound any different when you use the peace. Anyway, in the small town I live in people tank me for my service and want to hear stories of Iraq and Afghanistan. Those same people sometimes act uncomfortable around me, like I'm going to snap and start shooting people for no reason. It's an American thought process that wants guns and warriors, and people who "take the fight to the enemy" just not around them or their family. If terrorists ever get a foot hold in this country and start attacking like they would want to, the anti-gun population will change their tune in a heartbeat. I just hope we have the guns left to defend this country.squirrellsgnwild, pinballwizard, Joetro and 2 others Thank this. -

Carrying a firearm in your truck is (IMNSHO)not something you should be considering. Either you end up with a Rambo complex, or you pull it out some night to 'scare someone away' and they take it from you and use it ON you.
Most people with firearms are not prepared (mentally) to actually USE them on someone else; all you end up doing is providing your attacker with another, deadlier, weapon.
If you want to carry SOMETHING (and who doesn't these days) a fishbeater is a much more viable choice. And you don't have to worry about reciprocity either (lol) -
No, it's a liberal thought process that causes people to feel that way. The idiot box and the media have programmed them into thinking that being a warrior and/or a patriot is the sign of a nutjob. True Americans don't feel that way.
If (when) the terrorists hit us again on our own soil, I'll be standing next to you throwing lead their way. I certainly won't be empty handed. The antis, will be cowering somewhere while we do the fighting.
Thank you for your service.southernpride Thanks this. -
The second amendment has really very very little to do with hunting, in fact nothing to do with hunting except the obvious, and everything to do with a people's right to bear arm's to protect themselves. Protect themselves against enemies from without and from within, foreign and domestic.

Remember that the British tried to take firearm's away from the American colonist's so they could not defend themselves from a government, the British government. A government that was doing things against the will of the American colonist's. Does this sound familiar. Don't they teach this in history anymore.
Nobody should think that the purpose of the second Amendment is to ensure that you can hunt. This type of thinking could be catastrophic to our people, the citizen's of the United States.
Furthermore, the word arm's includes ALL weapon's. Look up the word "arms". The writer of the constitution knew what he was doing and so did the signer's. A people must have at their disposal all the same weapons government has in order to be able to protect themselves from a government who attacks the citizen's. -
Reciprocity.

I'll have to disagree with you there. IF I carried a firearm, I would have no problem whatsoever using on someone that tried attacking me. If it's a choice between my life and some thug, the thug is going down. Same applies to someone trying to hurt my kids. With a gun, you don't have to get very close to them to defend yourself, where as with anything else, the attacker would have to be a lot closer. I do not currently own any guns, but did when I was growing up, went through hunter safety as required, and hunted regularly.pinballwizard Thanks this.
