These are the files we need to look at first.

Start a conversation with me so I can tell you how to rename them.

I never had any problems, freezing or otherwise with my 730 until last week when it starting randomly losing GPS signal. I thought it may have been because of the solar flares last week but I found out today that wasn't the case as the unit went complete gray screen. It wouldn't shut off until the battery died after I unplugged it & won't come back on. This unit is only two years old and was always removed from the truck at the end of my day. I will most likely not be replacing it with another Rand product as I believe a $500 unit should last more than two years when taken care of.

Are you using the charger that came with the unit? There are chargers available on the after market that have the same plug, but will fry your GPS. Ask me how I know that.

I've had chargers go bad and the only place to go for a replacement is the RM website.

BTW, there is a tiny power reset button on the back of the unit. You have to press it with a pen tip or something that small. It always works, even when the main power switch doesn't.

Using only the factory charging cord that came with the unit.

I have a 740 and the dock version I use (for Mac) 1.0.6401.34735 doesn't recognize the new unit. WIFI works so I can get latest updates but I don't see how to get my old address book (from 720) updated unless I use Google Drive instead of the Dock to transfer the files. Which files on my old 720 are the ones I should transfer to my new unit? (Google Drive on my Mac recognizes my new unit as an Android device but RND Dock doesn't seem to see it).

The x40's do not use the Dock.
