I am surprised at all of these posts dont bother to say one of the best resources. If you feel a place is being shady. Call the police. Tell them the situation and what your concerns are. Yes, if it is too good to be true, it often is. Yet if it is valid the police can either check them out for you or more than likely the title is in limbo with the state title section.

Yet as to the history of not having been rebuilt? That only happens if the repair shop uses a computer at the time of the repairs. There are still repair shops that are computerless. Hard to believe, yet many old timers still dont get it, so for them it is a why bother.

Even if the truck had 98000 a year ago, they rebuilt motor and set it back to 70000. Why is this truck going for half price?

I rather suggest he go to a real repo yard or auction then pay and then start police process and never see his money again

 

Could the dash gauge assembly have been replaced and the replacement odometer started at 0? Maybe it has 70,000 + 98,000.
