It doesn't help that the fact even though it has a decent amount of parking that T/A sits on a city block and as such,it's relatively "compact"

Prayers will be sent out on my personal behalf (I hate hearing this kind of stuff).....Please Let us know her condition, This is Terrible.

Guys,Please Watch out for people walking...Not everyone is paying attention- Please stop "worrying" About your E-Log and Park-Fuel Safely in truckstops.

Ok, it is probably just me. Yet I find it odd that a driver WASNT paying attention and started to roll??? No one else sees this as wrong? When I have been at a fuel isle and getting ready to go. I dont happen to watch a person suddenly disappear and decide it is safe to roll.

Something is missing on this story. Just me.

The J in S Beloit, Illinois has some wicked deep ruts in front of the fuel islands, as well as in the general parking area. Would be real easy to trip yourself up there walking across from the store towards the end pumps

    Yes it does

I like the way they built the new TruckWorld in North Jackson,Oh- Concrete at the pumps And dolly areas in the parking rows.. Spare no expense

I wonder if the company workers comp plan is going to regard this as a "OTJ accident"? Was she walking to/from her truck as part of the fueling process or was she off duty and just going to/from the store on her personal time?

So, are they going to consider what her eLog duty status was at the time? I guess that would be a good reason to not kick yourself back to off duty or sleeper too soon as I am prone to do to conserve time if that became a point of contention to determine responsible coverage.

I hope it doesn't turn into a pissing contest to determine who is to cover the hospitalization costs, personal health insurer or "workers comp". These sorts of incidents seem to always become a mess and lawyers having to get involved.

Then there's the driver/carrier who ran over her. I guess they certainly will bear some responsibility to but will fight it tooth and nail.

    ... Just wondering out loud

Very unfortunate and hopefully she will survive.

In truck stops and on work sites I ALWAYS walk far enough away that I can be seen FULLY by the operator and that I can see them. Or if I am walking behind a piece of equipment, such as an excavator, crane or truck I give a wide enough berth that if the operator moves or swings the equipment I won't be caught... EVERY time. It's a matter of survival.
