Well, I'm loaded, but I had to drive 25 miles off site to tarp if you can believe that ####. Of course Wyoming is being Wyoming and it's blowing 40 with gusts over 60. As I sit here typing this the truck is rocking around like it's having some sort of seizure. I can't unload until Monday, and with no rain...or snow...in the forecast, I've decided to cut it a little short today, wait on the winds to die down this evening and tarp up then. Going to stop by Walcott Friday and have my cb installed in this truck. Twice today I reached up for my mike to castigate some moron for his abject stupidity, only to come up with a hand full of air. Got to have my Stryker back.
More later...Oxbow, Scooter Jones, Panhandle flash and 4 others Thank this. -
Theirs always a chance of rain or snow where you're at. Lol.
These tall freightliner catch a lot of wind. Been many times I thought dang I'm going to blow over but I look in the mirror & the trailer isn't even leaning.
Be safe...Oxbow, Lepton1 and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
That's funny...and sadly true. Wonder if somewhere in the family woodpile there was an Indian rainmaker? Something to ponder, I suppose.Last edited: Sep 20, 2017

All freightliners suck in the wind. Freightliner needs a wind tunnel to test their trucks. Not only does the way the wind moves around the truck while simply driving forward steak rain and other water over the mirrors and side glass badly, this thing feels like a parachute in even small side gusts. The other day I farted next to the truck and I swear it started rocking a bit.

Well, this has been a day. Got up early, made the drive up to Iowa to drop off this sand. Get up to the customer "You weren't supposed to deliver this sand here! I told the shipper last week where to send it!" So he called dispatch to have them send the correct info, then calls the warehouse it was going to, and then gets me directions. Get there, get unloaded, and dispatcher calls me with my options. End up going back to where I was supposed to unload for a live load of steel. And that burned up what was left of my clock. So I parked here for the night, with a 4 hour run in the morning. Got the nice relaxing sounds of a huge thunderstorm and heavy rain, so at least I didn't have to drive through it. Take the little victories when you can, right?
Friend, Highway Sailor, Oxbow and 2 others Thank this. -
If this truck is Rockin', it must be Wyoming!
Oxbow, Broke Down 69 and cnsper Thank this. -
Load on. Load tarped. Driver well rested and fed. Time to drop the hammer and see how many miles I can run today. Not in any rush to get to Virginia, can't deliver until Monday morning anyhow, but I figure if I'm gonna be stuck, it might as well be at the 80 after I get my cb installed.
More later...Oxbow, 1951 ford, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
