They think I'm nuts cause I got out of a 2015 mack with an 12 speed auto, apu to get into a 2007 w900 flattop18 speed with a 550 cummins 800k seats have rips, paint on frame is coming off,no apu, etc.Truck has full gauge package and chicken lights.Office people don't understand and co workers in my division(hauling admixture in tankers going to cement plants)asked me if I was on crack and I'm gonna have a hard time getting into places lmao!I told all of them I'm old skool and love my hood trucks and if richie(rip)could get around the ne with a 350 inch wheelbase pete then I can get into cement plants to unload,so far no problems.I'll take an old large car anyday over these aero trucks with crap beeping at you all day long

    I'd do the same.

I like taking the old #### spreader some days instead of my Volvo. For one it's funny to roll coal and haul def... second reason is the series 60 in it pulls harder than the d13.

The truck is a pos though so it's best for a few hours then I start getting beat to hell and a headache from the wind screeching through the mirrors.

But your truck i'd happily drive daily.

I did something similar pulling tankers and reefers. With both companies, swapped a new condo for old flattops. Those old flattops rode better and pulled better. I was running coast to coast with both companies. The old flattop freightliner had almost a million miles on it and looked pretty worn on the outside, but that's not important to me. All those fancy new trucks that passed me on the flat land; I passed them on the hills and mountains and was usually grossing over 79K with liquid chemicals.

I liked my new FL with.13 speed. It had power for the hills. And it didn't come with all the beeping crap.

The anti rollover however had a tendency to get on my nerves.v

I love old school trucks. Screw EGR, screw DPF, screw electronics. Actually, screw everything built after 1994 and anything without a kitty under the hood

Yep- Pre-Electronic is a better overall choice for longevity AND profit over time.(Assuming good maint)

I Prefer Manual Slack adjusters And NO ABS- I Had to remove the ABS on my truck...I Like my Brakes Touchy and Meaty

    Logan76 and shogun Thank this.

I pulled the ABS speed sensors off my new axle. I just couldn't for the life of me find the ABS module to connect them to on my 1980 W900 :biggrin_2559:

Any pre-DEF truck is a good investment unless you paying a service truck to chase you. W900 is the king of the road....although I would have got a Condo sleeper.

Got my heart set on a beast like this.
